Beach Alchemy by Lis Bailly

Cyanotype is one of the earliest, truly cutting edge photographic processes discovered by Sir John Herscehl in 1842 and popularize by Anna Atkins. Objects such as grasses and seaweeds have been arranged on top of sheet of watercolour paper that has been coated with a light sensitive emulsion. Once these compositions are exposed in sunlight and fixed with water, these striking images emerge reversed in a compelling Prussian Blue.

This collection of 'one of a kind' cyanotype prints are by Lis Bailly. Tied to the natural environment, this process is hands-on, spontaneous...and a little magical.
